We have to be careful these days! There are so many ways that through every day communication, we can out ourselves with one single press of a button. We have a ton of damaging photos in our phones that could be accidentally discovered at any time, and every time I open my laptop in the office, I worry that something inappropriate will be frozen on my home screen and exposed to all my coworkers.
We recently had a communication issue, an embarrassing, weird, awkward issue that made me want to crawl in a hole and forget that I was a functioning adult. This little blunder put some things in perspective though! We slipped up and now we know the importance of being more careful.
We’ve had a lot more animal encounters now that the dogs are no longer with us. They used to bark and scare off the local beasts, but now we have visitors on a regular basis. On one occasion, we watched a pair of raccoons outsmart our raccoon-proof bird feeder, those clever little fuckers! We snapped a few photos of our new friends, and Sir sent them to his little sister. She loved the photos of the trash pandas wreaking havoc on our bird feeder.
A few days later, I’d just handed him a piece of lemon cake when his phone pinged with a text message from his sister. I sat down to eat my own cake and looked over to see that his face was in his hands. I thought he was crying and leapt up to see what was wrong. He moved his hands and I realized he was laughing, red faced and shaking his head, he could barely find the words to tell me what had caused this dramatic reaction.
Apparently, he’d taken a screenshot of the raccoon photos and sent that to his sister. At the bottom of the photos, you could see thumbnails of other photos in his album. Bad photos. Really, really bad photos. These are shots that I wouldn’t even share here on my blog! You can see close ups of my red striped ass with Dirty Whore written across my cheeks. There were photos of us having anal sex, a series of POV shots of him entering me from behind. These were highly pornographic images that we took thinking they’d never see the light of day.
When he showed me the photos, my heart jumped into my throat. I sat down stunned and started to stress eat, shoving the lemon cake into my mouth as if that would make the photos magically disappear. I told him I didn’t know whether I wanted to laugh, cry, or eat more cake. I couldn’t believe he’d accidentally sent his sister pictures of us having butt sex, and the thought made me burst into fits of giggles periodically throughout the rest of the night.
We got lucky this time. She laughed about the photos, and let us know that she didn’t care what we did. She just didn’t want him to share them with anyone else without knowing what he was sending out into the world. The next day, we both went through our phones and deleted hundreds of incriminating photos. We learned a valuable lesson with this little blunder, and we will certainly be more careful in the future!
I guess in many ways you were lucky. I have an app where I can hide pics and videos and no one will be able to find them. And I often move them to my WordPress media or this app before deleting them from my pics. But you’re correct—an error would be highly embarrassing!
I covered my face while reading this, how mortifying! So glad it was ok in the end. I have loads of bad bad photos on my phone I must be more careful.
This made me laugh so hard in empathy that literally tears streamed down my face. I read it aloud to my husband and he joined in sharing the mortification. I’m so glad that your story ended well. ?
Thank you!!! I love making people laugh. ?
Oh my gosh, how mortifying. I have naughty pics as well on my phone, but the newer iPhones have a hidden folder that I move all of those photos too. God forbid someone is scrolling through my photos of the dogs and get a boob shot or worse lol I’m glad you both could laugh about it.
I’ll have to see if my phone has that hidden folder!
Oh, you poor thing, how embarrassing!! ? I have the same fear; I have to try to remember to be very discreet anytime I open up my phone in public!! Thank goodness your sister-in-law is a good sport ?
Yes, thank goodness! I’m glad we can laugh about it now.
Ohhh my goodness! what a thing to happen. TY so mush for sharing this – I squirmed and I laughed – brilliant!
Your welcome! I’m glad it made you laugh.
